Jottings from the flower workroom

Image: A multi coloured wedding with some beautiful personal touches, some of  the links to the movie ‘Up’ were secrets until the day  and the bouquet had a hidden link to the Brides Gran and streamer ribbons….

It’s bright and blustery, a glorious day, with blossom petals blowing like confetti across the garden as I write. The Wisteria is heavy with lavender coloured flowers and its perfume is amazing.

The asparagus is up but not quite enough of our own home grown ready to eat this year, but there will be next year!  The thing about the garden is it’s all about the future, and what will be, and looking ahead optimistically. The cutting garden is promising too. We are looking forward to Sweet Peas, the plants are strong and will go into the ground any day now, there have been some tough night frosts around here. The garden Paeonies are all in bud so any day now they will surround us with colour from soft ivories and pinks through to corals and reds, just as I was saying….. always something to look forward to.

As mainly wedding florists we are always planning ahead but occasionally look back and reflect too……

We had a great time through the early spring, some very sophisticated colour schemes for Brides. At The Curradine Barns  Katie and Mark had a New York themed Wedding and chose white flowers to contrast with the greys and copper tones of their day.  Craig and Marc chose a soft rustic look for their day accenting with succulents,  twigs and tartan. Vibrant spring shades and lots of soft ribbon trails for Becky and Jonathan. At Lemore Manor  a navy blue and gold theme looked amazing in the Orangery with snowy white flowers again echoing the clean sophisticated styling by

Our lovely Hairdressing and Make up friends have been working their magic on beautiful Brides , Tabby ,  and  Aleksandra Guz  are both amazing. Thinking of magic, photographers Jarek, , Russell from, and  Marta from  have all been on form too capturing the details at each wedding. They are all, absolute professionals, tireless in trying to ensure your day is as perfect as you always dreamed it would be.

If you think you are really romantic, it’s hard to match the husband who recently booked a replica wedding bouquet for his wife’s first year anniversary surprise. We made it in such a way that it could be enjoyed in a vase and of course did our best to be as close to our original design as possible.  We loved being part of such a romantic surprise.

Last weekend we were at the Malvern Spring Show, flowers, garden inspiration and  Beekeeping ! We’re now getting ready for  a hectic few months of weddings.

Catch up again soon………..
