January 2021Posted on Jan 06, 2021
Here we are in 2021 and once more we are in lockdown with everything that means for Weddings!
2020 was tough for everyone involved in weddings, venues, suppliers and mainly our couples who have had to re arrange plans over and over again. One of our couples is now looking at the fourth re booking because they want to share their day, to be witnessed and supported by their wider family and friends.
Weddings are one of life’s brightest and best milestones and while we understand those who have gone ahead with very limited guests there’s something very restrained when celebrations are limited to such small numbers. For us weddings are about celebrating love, sharing the joy, bringing families together to support each newly married couple.
The bees are working hard keeping the Queen in each hive warm and fed, the paeonies and dahlias in the cutting garden are ‘asleep’, new seeds are here ready for the first greenhouse and polytunnel sowings. There will be some beautiful home grown flowers and foliage to add to the ones we buy in. ‘To plant a garden is to have faith in the future’, ( Audrey Hepburn) it’s a quote we’ve used before but it was never more true than today. The birds are oblivious and are enjoying the apples we left in the tree.
So as the sun is shining and the day is bright, we will wish you all the best for 2021, our hope is for everyone to be vaccinated soon and to be able to get on with life again. Until then stay safe and well……and…. as it’s a known that alcohol kills bacteria and viruses we will be doing our bit ‘dry’ January is not on the cards here!
